Hall County is launching a new accessibility platform officials say improves access to the more than 7,000 public documents available through the county website.
Whether someone is reviewing an agenda, looking up an application on their phone or using assistive technology to access public documents, the platform is designed to make information easier to access and understand, says Communications and Strategic Engagement Manager Sarah Crowe
“Public information should be available to everyone,” Crowe added. “This investment helps remove barriers so more residents can access the same information, regardless of the device they’re using or the technology they rely on to access it.”
The county has also partnered with Aira.io to provide 24/7 free visual interpretation services and human assistance in English and Spanish for residents who need help accessing online information.
“We serve a diverse community, and residents access information in different ways,” Crowe said. “The addition of DocAccess will help us better serve residents today while also giving us insight into how residents find and use County information so we can continue improving their experience and our transparency.”
DocAccess will open automatically alongside public documents accessed through the Hall County website. Residents who need assistance accessing County documents that are not currently available through the Hall County website can request assistance by emailing [email protected].
