*A lot of people studying for a Georgia driver’s license are struggling with basic traffic signal laws. The Peach State ranks 10th nationwide for road-rule confusion, with test takers missing over 42percent of signal questions. According to a study from driver education and permit prep site DrivingTests.org, researchers tracked nearly 188,000 answers from over 1,400 local learners.
*A recent Congressional study says the planned Interstate 14 corridor, known as the “Forts to Ports Route,” could reduce congestion, improve freight movement and connect rural communities to new jobs. The route would link Texas to Augusta through Columbus and Macon. Supporters say the project could attract new industries and improve access to military installations across the region. The proposed highway still needs long-term federal funding before construction can move forward.
*Financial marketplace MoneyLion reports that student debt in Georgia averages more than $7,000 per resident, pushing Georgia to 49th nationwide for overall debt management, with only Louisiana ranking worse. This despite lottery-funded HOPE programs that have delivered over $16 billion-plus in college aid to over 2.2 million students.
