A Commerce church congregation is in mourning after a longtime church employee died Thursday morning of injuries received in a wreck in Jackson County earlier in the day.
The state patrol says Jenifer Nicole Vickery, 45, was seriously injured about 8:30 when she pulled her SUV into the path of a pickup at the intersection of Georgia highways 15 and 326. She was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville where she later died.
Vickery was the Connections Coordinator at New Grace Church, according to a Facebook posting announcing her death. “Our hearts are hurting over Nikki’s passing, and we are asking for prayers, love, and support for her family,” the posting continued. “Nikki was a beautiful ray of sunshine at New Grace and added joy and vibrancy to every room she walked in. Her love for people and the depths to which she loved was one of a kind. Nikki served the Lord fervently and passionately…”
