Officers responded to a neighborhood complaint of a disorderly person on Baugh Street.

When officers arrived the subject of the complaint, a 60-year-old female, made threats to officers through a broken window and brandished a rifle. The female then barricaded herself in her home and refused to come out. Officers worked to go to each residence that was potentially at risk and evacuate those residents.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and Hostage Negotiators arrived on scene and were able to take the female into custody without further incident.

The female has been formally charged and turned over to the Jackson County Jail.”
