Commerce Express store closing

Express Inc. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and plans to close 100 stores across the U.S., including four in Georgia, one of them in Commerce. Two other stores in our area are not on the list: the ones at the Mall of Georgia in Buford and at the factory outlets in Dawsonville.

Georgia News Network reports the retailer said that it received a non-binding letter of intent from a group of investors to purchase the company, which has over 500 stores worldwide.

Express said 95 stores would be closing. The Georgia stores are:

  • Atlantic Station in Atlanta
  • Town Center at Cobb in Kennesaw
  • North Point in Alpharetta
  • Commerce Outlets in Commerce
