Clyde introduces Day of Tears Resolution

Congressman Andrew Clyde (R-Jackson County) has introduced legislation to recognize January 22, the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, as the “Day of Tears” to memorialize “the unborn victims of abortion.”

Rep. Clyde’s resolution honors the millions of unborn children lost to abortion by lowering the U.S. flag to half-staff every January 22.

“January 22nd, 1973, marks a dark anniversary for our nation,” Clyde said. “For decades, more than 62 million innocent babies have been unjustly stripped of their first and most fundamental right — the right to life. All of these unborn souls were precious, worth saving, and made in the perfect image of God. We must now properly honor and mourn the loss of these unborn lives by recognizing the anniversary of the dreadful Roe decision as the Day of Tears.”

Clyde’s 9th District includes part of Hall County.
