Clean-up continuing following stormy weather

Clean-up operations were continuing across northeast Georgia Sunday following storms that struck Hall County and other areas Saturday and Sunday. Damage included construction scaffolding at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton which was left scattered across the ground.

By 6:00 Sunday evening, only scattered power outages remained. Jackson EMC’s outage map showed none after some 14,000 were showing in the aftermath of Saturday’s storm, mostly in Hall County. Cumming-based Sawnee EMC was down to a handful of outages Sunday evening and the same for Dawsonville-based Amicalola EMC.

At the height of the storm Saturday, the sheriff’s department was reporting that 30-plus roads were blocked in Hall County by either downed trees or power lines or both.
