An 11-year-old boy suffered traumatic injuries in a Monday afternoon collision between a
car and a motorcycle in eastern Hall County.
HCSO NEWS RELEASE:
“The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) responded to the
scene around 5:45 p.m. to investigate the incident.
The initial investigation determined the child, identified as Dylan Reems of Homer, was
riding on the back of a motorcycle being operated by his father Michael Christopher Reems,
37, of Homer. The motorcycle was traveling southbound on Gillsville Highway approaching
F. Gilmer Road when a 2019 Dodge Charger traveling northbound on Gillsville Highway
crossed the centerline and struck the motorcycle. The driver of the Charger, Carlos
Jermaine Sims, 45, of Lula, remained at the scene.
Dylan was flown by air ambulance to Scottish Rite Hospital – Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
(CHOA) for treatment of his injuries. The drivers of the vehicles involved in the collision were
not injured.
AIU continues its investigation of the crash.”
