State Schools Supt. Richard Woods has named his Student Advisory Council for the current school year, and a Hall County student is in the group. He is Riley Seau, Jr., a senior at Chestatee High School.

Students from other counties in the immediate Gainesville area are also included – Habersham, Forsyth and Jackson. 2026-2027 Student Advisory Council.pdf

Throughout the school year, council members will meet with Woods to share their experiences, discuss education-related issues, and provide feedback on how state policies affect students.

Council members also serve as ambassadors for him and complete service projects benefiting their schools and communities, according to a news release. These projects give students opportunities to put their ideas into action, develop leadership skills, and address needs they see around them.
