Census Bureau: Dawson is country’s fastest growing county; Hall’s increase 2%

Dawson and Jackson counties are among the ten fastest growing counties in the county, percentage-wise, according to a report released Friday by the Census Bureau.

The report says Dawson led the country, growing by an estimated 6.4% between July 1, 2023, and July 1, 2024, and is now home to 33,748 people. Jackson is not far behind and is the fourth-fastest growing county, its population increasing to 93,825 during the same period – a 5.8% increase.

Hall County’s estimated population is put at 221,745 compared to 217,267 in 2023, a 2.06% increase. Forsyth County, consistently one of the country’s fastest growing counties, grew by 2.64% between July 1, 2023, and July 1, 2024 – an increase of 2.64%.
