“Driver distraction” is one possible cause of a three-vehicle crash in Franklin County Friday morning that killed a Maysville man, according to the state patrol.
The initial crash occurred head-on in a curve on Georgia 59 near Darrowby Lane and killed Frankie William Roper, 67, Maysville, and one of those vehicles was struck by a third. The state patrol says Roper was not wearing his seat belt and that the driver of the vehicle that struck his may have been distracted by her cell phone at the time of the crash.
Three people, including the one whose vehicle struck Roper’s, were seriously injured and hospitalized in Gainesville.
