Bus stop incident leads to drug possession, trafficking, distribution charges

A driver police say drove past a stopped school bus in Gainesville Monday ended up in the Hall County Jail on drug possession, trafficking, and distribution charges.

GAINESVILLE POLICE DEPT. FACEBOOK POST:

“(Monday) one of our traffic units was out enforcing “School Bus Stop Sign” violations.

He initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that ignored the School Bus Stop Sign while the bus was stopped and picking up students. Upon further investigation during the traffic stop, our traffic unit was able to locate the items listed in (the accompanying image).

(A search of the vehicle uncovered) 60grams of Methamphetamine, 95.3 grams of Marijuana, Package suspected to be Psilocybin Mushrooms, Crack, Cocaine, Drug Paraphernalia, 2 Handguns (1 Handgun was reported to be stolen out of North Carolina), multiple bank cards and IDs not matching the offenders arrested.”

(EDITOR’S NOTE: The passing of the stopped school bus comes less than a week after a similar incident in Meriwether County left an 8-year-old girl dead.)
