(GEORGIA NEWS NETWORK) – Some residents in one of Georgia’s newest cities may have been placed in incorrect council districts. The City of Mulberry, located in north Gwinnett near the Hall County line, voted in its first council election after becoming a city earlier this year.
However, Gwinnett County election officials have identified errors in the process, with 337 voters placed in incorrect council districts. Of those, WSB-TV reports 56 had already voted early and will not be able to recast their ballots. Extra employees at the polling location ensured the remaining 281 voters received correct ballots.
The issue only impacted the special election for city council, not the presidential election.
