Buford man charged with organizing street racing

GWINNETT CO. POLICE NEWS RELEASE:

“Geinnett County Police officers arrested an individual suspected of organizing illegal street racing activities.

On January 11, officers assigned to the North Precinct Community Response Team successfully apprehended Mathew Dylan Mccullock (age 19, Buford). He has been charged with organizing illegal street racing or reckless driving exhibition and being a participant or spectator of an illegal street racing or reckless driving exhibition.

With the help of our real-time Situational Awareness and Crime Response Center and the hard work of officers across our other precincts, Mathew Dylan Mccullock was identified. Mathew is believed to be involved in at least two events dating back to March 11, 2023, where he was identified as a participant at an illegal meetup near the intersection of Old Norcross Road and Breckinridge Blvd in unincorporated Duluth. Mathew is also suspected of organizing a more recent event on December 23, 2023, where hundreds of vehicles gathered and began illegal street racing in the parking lot of 4125 Buford Drive in Buford.

These dangerous and reckless activities will not be tolerated. We are committed to keeping the streets of Gwinnett County safe for all residents and visitors.”
