Three people, including a Buford man, were arrested earlier this week following an incident at Veterans State Park in in Cordle that began as a confrontation involving several individuals and grew into a fight.
Incident Details
The Cordele Dispatch reports that deputies from the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office responded to the park after receiving reports of a large physical altercation. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) officials working the park and lake also arrived, and by the time law enforcement arrived, the crowd had begun to disperse Cordele Dispatch.
Authorities found that the confrontation had turned violent, with one person reportedly struck in the face and another sustaining minor injuries while attempting to intervene. A firearm was recovered from a vehicle during the incident, but no threats were made and the weapon was not pointed at anyone Cordele Dispatch.
Arrests and Charges
Three individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Crisp County Jail:
- Brandon Suggs, 19, of Leesburg, GA
- Nathaniel Tobias, 20, of Buford, GA
- Caitlin Cowart, 25, of Leesburg, GA
All three have been charged with disorderly conduct Cordele Dispatch.
