7 teens charged with burglary, vandalism at EHHS

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE:

“Seven (7) teenagers face charges following a break-in at East Hall High School (EHHS) last week.

A Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) school resource officer (SRO) discovered the damage at the school when he arrived on the property around 5 a.m. Friday, March 15. Initially, the SRO observed toilet paper in some of the trees at the school. He then found caution tape and toilet paper wrapped around railings and outdoor tables in the quad area outside the cafeteria. Green de-icing salt had also been poured on the steps near the cafeteria. Egg residue was found on some exterior parts of the building, including windows.

Further investigation found the suspects entered the school through an outside back door of the gymnasium weight room. De-icing salt had been poured in an area outside the gym. In addition, the SRO found eggs and egg shells inside three vending machines on another floor. Eggs had also been thrown at the door to the assistant principal’s office.

School administrators used security camera footage to determine the break-in occurred just after 12 a.m. Friday. They were also able to identify the suspects and track their actions with the video footage. The following suspects were arrested and charged with second degree burglary and criminal damage to property:

·         Jacob Daniel Christian, 17, Lula
