Braselton road closed for about 6 hours Friday

FROM GEORGIA NEWS NETWORK:

Traffic is flowing again after an overturned gasoline tanker in Braselton shut down a section of Highway 53 for several hours on Friday.

First responders say the tanker overturned and skidded partially off the road shortly before 10:00 a.m.

The crash reportedly prompted the closure of all lanes of the highway for several hours, during which time traffic was diverted to New Cut Road to the south and New Liberty Church Road to the north.

Officials say all lanes were reopened around 4:00 Friday afternoon. There were no reports of injuries, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
