Braselton man jailed on drug, traffic charges

HALL CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NARRATIVE:

“Jason David White, 39, of Braselton remains in the Hall County Jail on a bond of $6,420 following his arrest over the weekend on a list of traffic offenses and drug charges.

A Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputy was on traffic patrol on I-985 near Exit 8 just before 3 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 when a motorcycle passed him traveling at a speed of approximately 85 mph. The deputy activated his emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop, but the motorcyclist, later identified as White, increased his speed to around 100 mph as he fled from the deputy.

The deputy made the determination not to pursue White, but when a Flowery Branch Police Department officer saw the motorcycle in the area of Exit 12, he notified our deputy. At that time, our deputy continued to travel northbound on the interstate and observed the motorcycle take Exit 14. Eventually, the deputy was able to stop the motorcycle at the intersection of Auger Falls Drive and Loowit Falls Way just off Winder Highway. There was never a high speed pursuit during the incident.

As a result of the traffic stop, White was charged with the following misdemeanor traffic offenses:

·         Speeding

·         Fleeing or attempting to elude

·         Failure to stop at a stop sign (2 counts)

·         Driving with expired license

In addition, White was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine after the deputy discovered 11.9 grams of meth in White’s possession.”
