The Habersham County Coroner’s Office and Sheriff’s Office are investigating after a body was found near Alto Wednesday afternoon.
Coroner Kasey McEntire said the deceased was found by a family member just after 3:00 at a house on Mt. Zion Connector.
“While foul play is not suspected at this time, the body has been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation State Crime Lab in Decatur for evaluation,” McEntire said. “No further details will be released at this time pending the outcome of that exam and notification of family members.”
