This week’s drought map for Georgia hardly resembles the one from just a week ago, following all the rain we’ve had recently.
Every classification shows a lessening in severity, from Rabun Gap to Tybee Light. In fact, for the first time in weeks there is a small pocket in northwest Georgia that is now considered drought-free, something we haven’t seen anywhere in the state in months.
In our corner, the change wasn’t that dramatic. Conditions in most places, including Hall County, remain “severe.” The most dramatic change is in south Georgia.
