Gainesville man charged with September 2023 fatal hit and run.
Joshua Shane Harkins, 44, of Gainesville, Georgia has been taken into custody for the hit and run death of Omer Herman Lee Morris on McEver Road. Harkins is charged with felony homicide by vehicle, felony failure to stop at accident with death or serious injury, felony tampering with evidence and leaving the scene of accident.
After a video was released of a suspect vehicle, a tip came in leading to Harkins as a suspect in the case. Investigators followed evidence and leads that led to the arrest of Harkins. The Georgia Information Sharing and Analysis Center (GISAC) played a vital role in the investigation.
