*At least seven lawsuits have been filed by the families of the students and teachers killed and wounded in the Apalachee school shooting two years ago. The suits were filed in Barrow County Superior Court last week, according to the AJC, and allege that the school’s principal and the county school systems are liable for failing to protect students and staff. School officials declined comment on the suit.
*Two University of North Georgia (UNG) student – one from Gainesville, one from Dawsonville – further enhanced their skills this summer at Cyber Summer Immersion events funded by the War (Defense) Department.
