Apalachee reopens Monday

Apalachee High School (AHS) will open its doors to students Monday for the first time since the mass shooting Sept. 4 that left two teachers and two students dead, and another teacher and eight students wounded.

Plans were announced for a “gradual” reopening via a Facebook post, which included a video message from the school system superintendent and the Apalachee principal, a few days ago.

BARROW COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM (BCSS) FACEBOOK POST:

“Today, we shared the video message below with our AHS and BCSS staff and families.

We plan a gradual reopening for AHS the week of September 23. We are working closely with our community, staff, parents, and experts to ensure we have the right systems and resources in place. As we finalize details, we will share them with families.

As a reminder, any information about reopening will come directly from the Barrow County School System and will be posted on our website. Thank you.”
