*The citizens group seeking a recall of Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch had to turn in its petition Thursday but was well-short of the 42,000+ signatures it needed. The recall effort was launched earlier this year after Couch was arrested on a DUI charge.
*Gov. Kemp remembered the Apalachee High School (AHS) shooting with a ceremony in Atlanta Thursday morning. It included Barrow County leaders and affected families. Friday marks two years since the killings of two teachers and two students, and the wounding of nine other people by Colt Gray, who opened fire on the campus of the school. Gray, who was 14 at the time, is serving life without parole after pleading guilty earlier this year.
