Road work that began today on the west side of Gainesville is expected to continue through at least next Friday and will result in the partial closure of one street.
CITY OF GAINESVILLE TRAFFIC ALERT:
“The City of Gainesville Dept. of Water Resources is installing a new 8” PVC sanitary sewer main
on West End Ave.
This work requires one lane closure – starting at Browns Bridge Road between Zaxby’s and Dimo Jewelry and running toward Pearl Nix Parkway – to stage equipment and labor. Construction
will be starting on Thursday, January 4, and will continue until Friday, January 12, 2024.
Construction Schedule:
- Please refer to the attached West End Ave Map for traffic control.
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional Saturdays possible.
- West End Ave will be repaved after the sewer main has been installed.
