Another case of alleged elder exploitation

A Gainesville woman remained in jail early Thursday afternoon in lieu of bonds totaling $14,954 following her arrest Tuesday in connection with a domestic altercation that led to charges of exploitation of an elderly person and battery.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says the incident occurred at a residence on South Bend Road.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“A deputy with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) was dispatched to the residence to investigate a physical incident between Andrea Blair Jackson, 52, and an 82-year-old female victim. Both women live at the address in question, but reside in different structures on the property.

The preliminary investigation determined Ms. Jackson had come to the structure where the victim lives and demanded entry to see a visitor at the home. When the victim refused, Ms. Jackson struck the older woman in the face with a bouquet of flowers while attempting to push past her to get inside the home. The victim was not seriously injured.

As a result, Ms. Jackson was charged with misdemeanor simple battery and felony exploitation of an elder person. She also was charged with violation of bond conditions…”
