Alleged shoplifters arrested; $5,000 employee theft

*Two Flowery Branch women, 67-year-old Susan Kay Marlowe and 33-year-old Courtney Marlowe, have been arrested by Flowery Branch Police on shoplifting charges. Police say they were arrested Thursday at a store on Spout Springs Road and had worked together “to conceal and take” merchandise
from the store without payment. The total value of the stolen merchandise exceeded $500, police said.

*Gainesville Police took a report of a nearly $5,000 Theft by Conversion case this week from North Georgia Eye Associates. “An employee was terminated and still had possession of work-related equipment belonging to the business,” Lt. Jessica Van said Friday. “No charges were filed at this time.” The amount of the loss, according to the complainant, totaled $4,998. The theft occurred between April 25 and this past Tuesday when it was reported.
