WEDNESDAY 8:30 A.M. UPDATE:
As of 8:00 this morning, all roads in Hall County were open though some areas in the southeastern part of the county still have some ice on them, the county Emergency Management & Homeland Security Agency says, and motorists should exercise extreme caution until the temperatures rise above freezing and the ice melts.
Late last night, several roads were closed after snow began falling in the South Hall area about mid-afternoon. EARLIER STORY. POSTED 11:00 TUESDAY NIGHT: WINTER STORM UPDATE #9: Roads closed in S. Hall; Closings, delays
The Mulberry Creek Community Center and Spout Springs Library have delayed opening until noon. All other county facilities are open for their normal hours today.
The Winter Storm Warning has been lifted and replaced by a Cold Weather Advisory which has been posted because of the below normal temperatures and icy conditions this morning. The low this morning was 16 and Gainesville has not been above freezing since Sunday afternoon. That may change today, however, because the predicted high temperature is in the mid-30s, and we’ll have a warming trend the rest of the week and into the weekend.
