*A University of Georgia student was found dead on campus after a friend reported that she had not returned on time from a hike. Foul play is suspected, according to police and the GBI. The cause of death and the name of the victim were not immediately released. Classes have been canceled until Monday.

*Researchers at Emory University say a study has found a link between air pollution and Alzheimer’s. The study released does not cite proof that air pollution causes the disease, just an association between exposure and signs of Alzheimer’s in the brain.

*Two girls basketball teams are out of the state playoffs after being disqualified. The Spalding County Lady Jaguars were visiting Wayne County during the 4-A playoffs in Jesup. Both teams were disqualified from the tournament after a fight cleared both benches. The AJC says it marks the first double disqualification in a state tourney.
