Forty-eight Jackson EMC (JEMC) crew members, including linemen, mechanics, and safety personnel, have been assisting with Hurricane Helene power restoration efforts central Georgia since September 29 and the electric co-op is deploying a relief force of 30 later this week to replace them.
JEMC forces are collaborating with line workers from across the country in support of Rayle EMC in Washington, Jefferson Energy Cooperative in Wrens, and Washington EMC in Sandersville.
“This storm has been one of the most challenging we’ve faced in Georgia, and while we were fortunate to avoid its full impact, we are fully committed to supporting our fellow cooperatives as they work to restore power,” said Tommy Parker, vice president of operations. “We understand the challenges they face and are proud to provide our crews and equipment during this critical time. Cooperatives work together to help each other, and we’re dedicated to seeing this restoration through. That’s the essence of cooperation among cooperatives—it’s simply what we do.”
