(GEORGIA NEWS NETWORK) – After Hurricane Helene, the Georgia Secretary of State’s (SOS) office is working to make certain that early voting is secure – conducting a “health check” of election systems around the state.
Despite Helene’s impact on Georgia, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger says he’s confident election operations will remain on track. Efforts are being made to ensure that election workers in affected areas are safe, equipment is secure, and early voting locations will be functional.
Recovery efforts are ongoing in storm-battered regions, with plans to relocate early voting sites if necessary. Georgians will have three weeks of in-person early voting and Election Day to cast their votes.
