With July 4 approaching, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) recently posted a reminder about Georgia’s fireworks law on its Facebook page.
One point that is made is that fireworks are legal until midnight on not only July 4 but July 3 as well. So, there’s nothing law enforcement can do if you report their use before then.
In addition, the law requires that no one under 18 use fireworks, that it’s illegal to use them within 100 yards of an electric plant, water or wastewater treatment plant, gas station, refinery, power substation, jail or prison, helipad, hospital, nursing home or other health care facility.
And don’t get caught using them if you are using alcohol or illegal drugs.
