FCSO NEWS RELEASE:
“On July 27, 2023, at approximately 5:30pm deputies responded to 3100 Dove Trail in reference to a drowning. 24-year-old Thomas Milner entered the water from his family dock and shortly after was heard screaming for help. A family friend attempted to get him out of the water using a ladder but was unsuccessful.
Neighbors took a boat over to Thomas and one person jumped in the water to help him. That person described a burning sensation he recognized as an electric shock. He swam ashore, turned off the power box and re-entered the water ultimately pulling Thomas onto the dock. Thomas’ uncle began CPR until EMS arrived.
Thomas was taken to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries the next day. This case remains an active investigation.”
