Oakwood hit-and-run

A couple found themselves the victims of a hit-and-run driver and a near-miss with another in Oakwood early Sunday morning.

The sheriff’s office says the driver and her husband told deputies they were northbound on Mundy Mill Road about 3:30, attempting to get onto I-985 northbound when their vehicle was struck by a vehicle and cut off by another.

The first was a dark-colored SUV traveling in the same lane, which accelerated and struck their vehicle. It then continued onto Interstate, northbound. After the motorist corrected from the first collision, she said a truck cut their vehicle off as they were trying to enter the northbound lanes of the highway.

There was some damage to the driver-side door of their vehicle.

The couple did not get tag numbers for the offending vehicles.
