Two longtime employees of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office recently left for other jobs in the community – one in the judiciary and the other with another police agency. The sheriff’s office made the announcement Thursday though one of the moves was already public knowledge.
Chief Deputy Kevin Head is now the Judicial Accountability Division Director for the Northeastern Judicial Circuit which is made up of Hall and Dawson counties. He leaves the sheriff’s office after serving the agency for nearly 40 years.
Kelly Edwards is the new Flowery Branch Police Chief; the announcement of his appointment having been made several days ago by Flowery Branch officials. Until last Friday, he spent his entire law enforcement career with the sheriff’s office, joining the agency in 1996 as a jailer. Edwards leaves after serving most recently as the Captain over Court Services.
