The Mulberry Planning Commission has voted 3-1, with one abstention, to recommend approval for a Special Use Permit requested by a church for a worship center on Thompson Mill Road near the Hall County line. Emmaus Church is now located in Buford.
The planning commission recommendation, which includes a stipulation that no building in the complex be higher than 51 feet, now goes to the city council for a final up-or-down vote next month.
Plans call for the 46,000-square-foot facility to include a sanctuary, clssrooms, offices, and fellowship halls.
