Contract let for resurfacing of Limestone Parkway

A $5.1 million contract has been awarded by the state Department of Transportation (GDOT) for the resurfacing of Limestone Parkway. It calls for the completion of the work by the end of next August.

The apparent low bid for another Hall County project was rejected by the board. It was for 2.6 miles of widening and reconstruction for additional lanes on Cleveland Highway beginning at Lakeview Street and extending to near Nopone Road. The amount of the bid was not released.

Three other Gainesville area projects were given the go-ahead: bridge rehabilitation at various locations in Forsyth and Gwinnett counties; 9.3 miles of resurfacing on Georgia 211 beginning north of Statham in Barrow County and extending south to near Georgia 11; and 5.7 miles of repaving in Habersham County on Georgia 17 from Georgia 15 to Georgia 115.
