Lake Lanier down another third-of-a-foot as drought worsens in Hall Co.

The drought worsened in most of north Georgia, including Hall County, over the past week and Lake Lanier today is a third-of-a-foot lower that it was this time last week.

The U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) reports that conditions in Hall County are now “moderately” dry in those areas that border Forsyth, Dawson, Lumpkin and White counties and now cover more than half of the county.

There are drought-free areas in the state, however, in several southern counties stretching from the southwest corner to the coast.

The level of Lake Lanier is now 1063.8, down from 1064.1 a week ago.
