*A construction worker is recovering after falling in a maintenance hole in Atlanta. Officials say he fell from a ladder into a 20-foot maintenance hole this morning. Firefighters were able to rescue the man who was trapped and couldn’t get out.
*A former Hampton resident is accused of threatening to kill U.S. Senate candidate Mike Collins. Butts County Sheriff Gary Long says the suspect sent messages through Instagram to Collins and his son-in-law. The GBI and FBI worked together to track the man down to his home in Buffalo, New York, where he was arrested.
*Georgia is moving from suds to spirits. According to a new report from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, per-capita hard alcohol intake is up 37 percent since 2010, while beer has fallen 26 percent. Overall, drinking in the state is down three percent since 2010, including a two percent decline in the latest recorded year.
*A suspect is facing charges for damaging two Flock cameras in Kennesaw. Officers arrested a 20-year-old for two felony counts of interfering with government property and two counts of criminal trespass. Cobb County police say other Flock cameras tracked the man’s truck, which led to his capture.
