A Gainesville man remained in the Hall County Jail late Monday afternoon following his arrest on a number of charges after, the sheriff’s office says, a North Hall man found him sitting in his truck Friday night.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Tradition Drive off Thompson Bridge Road shortly before 9:00. The vehicle owner had been unloading items from the truck and, upon returning from the house, discovered Timothy Michael Gooch sitting inside the vehicle, spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. The owner closed the truck’s tailgate, prompting the 21-year-old Gooch to jump out and run, something doorbell cameras captured.
A K9 team responded and tracked Gooch to a nearby location on Hanover Drive, where he was arrested without incident.
Deputies charged Gooch with entering auto, three counts of loitering or prowling, and public drunkenness. Bond has been set at $10,380. He is also being held on a bond surrender related to a previous DUI charge.
