Those Tuesday traffic accidents that occurred in different parts of the county within hours of each other took the lives of two Hall County women.
The sheriff’s office says 87-year-old Martha Pass of Gainesville died about noon on Mountain View Road in Oakwood when a trailer being towed by Felipe Rios, 36, of Gainesville, broke loose and struck her car.
Rios was charged with vehicular homicide in the second degree and failure to properly secure the trailer.
The second accident occurred about 8:30 Tuesday morning on Cleveland Highway when 61-year-old Margret Nora Thomas turned into the path of another vehicle at the Green Circle intersection. Thomas died when her vehicle was struck by the other one. Williams said Thomas’ vehicle left the road and plunged down a 30-foot embankment.
The other driver was not injured.
