The Hall County School District announced Tuesday that four schools will receive new Learning Commons through a $100,000 donation from the Melvin Douglas and Victoria Kay Ivester Foundation.
Chestatee Academy, C.W. Davis Middle School, Friendship Elementary School and Myers Elementary School will each receive $25,000 to modernize their learning commons. District officials said the upgraded spaces are designed to support “creativity, collaboration and student-centered learning while providing students with innovative environments for exploration and growth.”
A ceremony celebrating the additions is scheduled for Dec. 2 at 11:30 at Friendship Elementary School.
According to the district, each Learning Commons will be named in honor of individuals connected to the Ivester Foundation who have made significant contributions to the community. The names of those honorees will be announced during the ceremony.
Superintendent Will Schofield praised the foundation for its continued investment in Hall County students.
“The generosity of the Ivester Foundation is creating more than beautiful new spaces. It is creating places where curiosity can grow, ideas can come to life, and students can see new possibilities for their future,” Schofield said. “We are deeply grateful for their continued belief in our students and their commitment to making a lasting difference in our community.”
