April showers may bring May flowers, but October showers may bring some drought relief, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
“Long-range models suggest a weather pattern that would support lots of moisture across the Southeast during the first week of October,” the weather service says in an advisory issued Sunday morning.
For north and central Georgia: Rain chances will return to the region at the start of the month and could improve the current Abnormally Dry to Moderately Dry drought conditions across the state.
