The unemployment rate in Hall County increased a bit in August, according to the state labor department.
Compared to July, the rate was up a tenth of a percent to 2.8%, down from 3.1% a year ago.
The labor force increased by 496 over the past month and by 1,632 over the year, reaching 111,582.
In addition, Hall County ended August with 108,436 employed residents, an increase of 326 over the month and by 1,847 from the same time a year ago.
The county finished the month with 108,800 jobs, up by 300 from the previous month but down by 700 from the same time last year.
