“Heavy law enforcement presence at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in regards to a bomb threat in the vicinity,” reads a brief Facebook post from the Gainesville Police Department, which went up about 11:15. “OPERATIONS AT THE HOSPITAL ARE NOT IMPACTED.”
Capt. Kevin Holbrook, spokesman for the police department, added: “We are on scene of an alleged threat that came in via dispatch. A bomb threat in proximity to the hospital was called in. We have a heavy law enforcement presence. We are conducting safety sweeps with personnel, dogs and other safety equipment.”
