A 38-year-old Gainesville man, who was found passed out in a convenience store restroom last week, remained in the Hall County Jail Monday afternoon following his arrest on a charge of trafficking fentanyl.
Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman B.J. Williams said employees of the RaceTrac convenience store on Kubota Way found Tyler Jacob Jones, 28, Thursday night about 10:00. “The employees called 911 and then conducted lifesaving measures (CPR) on Jones until emergency personnel arrived at the scene. Jones was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment of an apparent overdose.”
Sheriff’s deputies later found a small baggie containing drugs inside the bathroom where Jones has collapsed, Williams added. “The investigation determined the baggie contained 11.8 grams of fentanyl (estimated street value $1,770). Deputies also located a piece of foil with burned drug residue at the scene.”
As a result, Jones was charged with trafficking fentanyl and possession of a drug-related object. He was jailed Friday after his release from the hospital.
