ESPN is reporting that quarterback Michael Penix Jr. could make his season debut as early as Thursday against the Green Bay Packers. Penix hasn’t played since suffering a late season knee injury last year.
Gainesville’s Deshaun Watson outplayed Baker Mayfield Sunday and earned at least a few more starts for the Cleveland Browns. Watson threw two touchdown passes, including a go-ahead 17-yard toss to Blake Whiteheart in the fourth quarter, leading the Browns to a 23-19 comeback victory over the Tampa Bay. Atlanta Dream’s Angel Reese made history over the weekend. Reese got her 500th rebound of the season Saturday during a game against the Chicago Sky, making her the first WNBA player to do so in a single season.
