Property tax bills delayed for second straight year

Again, this year, for the second year in a row, Hall County property tax bills will be mailed later than the usual mid‑September date. The delay stems from ongoing issues tied to last year’s legislation and limitations in the digest‑preparation software used outside the Hall County Tax Commissioner’s Office. This slowed completion of the tax digest and pushed back the mailing schedule.

Tas Commissioner Darla Eden said the office expects to send bills in mid‑October and emphasized that accuracy remains the priority. She noted that modernization efforts planned for the property‑tax system should improve coordination and efficiency across the agencies involved in preparing the digest.

Although the mailing date is shifting, the payment deadline will remain 60 days from the date the bills are sent, giving taxpayers the standard window to plan and submit payment.

Residents can monitor updates through the tax commissioner’s website or official county communication channels.
