A Braselton police officer has been fired after an investigation found he improperly used the Flock camera system, city officials said Friday. The officer, who was not identified, reportedly exploited the system in 2024 and 2025.
“When made aware of potential misuse occurring during the former administration, we took immediate action to investigate and hold the individual accountable,” interim Police Chief Zach Tiller said in a statement. “This past behavior occurred before our current safeguards were enacted. Today, our Flock camera system is strictly monitored to ensure it is used solely to fight crime and protect our community.”
The department has reduced the number of people with access to the system from 23 to 14, requiring an entry with a case number and law enforcement purpose for every search, and conducting weekly search log audits.
