A Gainesville man remained in the Hall County Jail Thursday morning on several charges, including DUI and serious injury by vehicle, following a single-vehicle accident Tuesday night in East Hall. Storm Allen Parlato, 31, was being held without bond. The crash happened about 9:15 on Cedar Creek Road.
“The investigation at the scene determined Parlato was driving a 2010 Mini Cooper traveling northbound on Cedar Creek Road, attempting to negotiate a curve at a high rate of speed,” sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “Parlato traveled off the roadway and lost control of the vehicle, rotating sideways and then striking a utility pole.”
Parlato was not injured, but a 27-year-old woman, a passenger in the vehicle, suffered a compound fracture to her right arm. “A five-year-old boy, also a passenger in the vehicle, had red marks on his neck from a shoulder seat belt,” Williams said, adding “the child was not in a proper child safety seat. Both passengers were transported by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment.”
Parlato was charged with serious injury by vehicle, DUI, DUI-child endangerment, no safety restraint for child passenger, driving too fast for conditions and failure to maintain lane.
